Inspection Services we currently provide are:

bullet

Visual and Dimensional Inspection: Routinely these inspections involve our CWI staff in the visual examination of welds in new construction to determine compliance with applicable specifications. Most of frequently this is the first step in a multi-step process involving other test methods. We also do independent verification of dimensional acceptability of machined or welded parts acting as the customers eyes and ears during the manufacturing process for critical parts. Our CWI staff can also perform in service inspections providing the customers engineering staff with valuable information on repairs or modifications that may be necessary to increase or continue service life of a system.

Magnetic Particle Inspection: An excellent inspection for surface and subsurface discontinuities in ferro-magnetic materials, carbon and low alloy steels. Our staff is trained in the use of magnetic particle inspection utilizing both AC/DC yoke and prod type equipment. Our certifications allow our personnel to perform inspections using either wet suspension fluorescent and dry powder methods.

Liquid Penetrant Inspection: This inspection method is normally used where the material involved is non-magnetic, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, bronze, etc., however these are cases where it may be preferable to magnetic particle testing on magnetic materials. Our Level II staff is trained tin the use of both visible dye and fluorescent solvent removable liquid penetrant. While we do not commonly use post emulsified water washable penetrant inspections our Level III staff is well versed in the use of this method if the need arises.

Ultrasonic Inspection: Our inspection staff is trained and certified in both longitudinal and shearwave modes of ultrasonic inspection. we routinely perform thickness and lamination inspections utilizing the longitudinal wave mode. While less in demand our inspectors are also experienced in ultrasonic inspection for bond integrity. We also perform shearwave mode inspections to determine integrity of welds. At present we do not perform immersion testing.
